Carmine John Persico, Jr. (1933-present) is a long-time member of La Cosa Nostra and boss of the Colombo crime family. He was convicted in 1986 as part of the so-called “Commission” case that targeted the leaders of New York City organized crime groups. This release contains information on an investigation into one of the many criminal indictments against him in the Commission case.

Cartha Dekle “Deke” DeLoach (1920 to 2013) was a long-serving FBI employee, agent, and executive between 1942 and 1970. At his retirement, he held the position of deputy associate director, the third-ranking official in the FBI at the time. This release consists of four volumes of material from his personnel file ranging from 1942 to 1959.

Caryl Whittier Chessman (1921-1960) was convicted of robbery, automobile theft, and kidnapping with associated bodily harm. He received the death penalty under the “Little Lindbergh Law” of California in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Mary Alice Meza.

Casey Kasem, 1932 to 2014, born as Kemal Amen Kasem, was an actor, producer, and well known disk jockey and music celebrity. These files concern FBI investigations of violent threats made against Kasem between 1981 and 1993.

Charles "Chuck" Wendell Colson
Charles “Chuck” W. Colson (1931-2012) served as an official in the Nixon Administration and later was a well known Christian speaker and founder of a non-profit organization called the Prison Fellowship. He pled guilty to Watergate related charges in 1974 and served a brief federal prison sentence. This FOIA release covers the FBI’s background investigation into Colson’s appointment for a position in the White House. There is no connection in this material to Watergate or Colson’s later career.
