Usama (Osama) Bin Laden

Usama (or Osama) Bin Laden, founder of the al Qaeda terrorist organization, was born in Saudi Arabia in 1957. On March 10, 1984, Bin Laden and others killed two German nationals. On March 16, 1998, authorities in Tripoli issued an arrest warrant for him for murder and illegal possession of firearms. Bin Laden was also wanted for the August 1998 bombing of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. He was killed by U.S. forces in May 2011. This release consists of material that predates the 9/11 attacks.

Vincent Foster
Vincent Foster (1945-1993), a prominent lawyer from Arkansas, was the Deputy White House Counsel to President Clinton from 1991 to 1993. Depressed by critical media comments, Foster took his own life on July 20, 1993 at Fort Marcy Park in Virginia. U.S. Park Police led the investigation into Foster’s death. This release details FBI assistance in the investigation, including information concerning a letter written by Foster, handwritten case notes, and the medical examiner’s report that ruled his death a suicide.

On April 16, 2007, Seung-Hui Cho committed mass murder on the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) campus in Blacksburg, Virginia before committing suicide. The FBI provided investigative support to state and local police investigating the attacks. This release covers some of this work during April 2007.
