In 1947, Elizabeth Ann Short (1924-1947) was brutally mutilated and murdered in Los Angeles. The FBI was heavily involved the investigation as it pertained to the processing of fingerprints in the FBI’s Lab. This case is infamously known as the “Black Dahlia”. Her killer was never found.
